Job Overview

A law firm seeks a high-performing Real Estate Counsel to join its practice in Short Hills, NJ. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in real estate transactions, including development and re-development, and will work with a diverse client base on complex projects.

Duties

• Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, commercial leases, and development agreements.
• Lead due diligence, including title and survey review, and zoning analyses.
• Coordinate and close acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and development transactions.
• Manage workstreams and mentor junior lawyers.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of sophisticated real estate transactional experience.
• Experience at a major law firm with a national practice is required.
• Proven track record in acquisitions, dispositions, and build-to-suit leasing.
• Experience coordinating closings and overseeing due diligence.
• Licensed to practice law and in good standing in the relevant state.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in the state of New Jersey.
