Job Overview:
A law firm located in Mt. Laurel, NJ, is seeking an experienced General Liability Litigation Associate Attorney. The ideal candidate should have experience handling personal and commercial lines of auto insurance defense, trucking, rideshare, UM/UIM defense, and coverage litigation. The role involves representing clients in both state and federal courts throughout New Jersey, including handling depositions, discovery motions, arbitration, and trial preparation. Duties:

• Case Management:

  • Manage a caseload of insurance defense and coverage matters from start to finish.
  • Conduct legal research and create case strategies.
  • Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, and legal documents.
  • Ensure compliance with client litigation and billing guidelines.

• Client Interaction:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates and addressing concerns.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication.
  • Advise clients on complex legal issues to minimize risks and achieve favorable outcomes.

• Litigation:

  • Represent clients in hearings, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations.
  • Handle discovery processes, including interrogatories, depositions, and document reviews.

• Coverage Analysis:

  • Analyze insurance policies to determine coverage and liabilities.
  • Negotiate and resolve coverage disputes with opposing counsel and insurers.

• Team Collaboration:

  • Mentor and guide junior attorneys and support staff.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a comprehensive approach to cases.

• Business Development:

  • Participate in marketing and business development activities to attract clients.
  • Contribute to the firm's thought leadership through articles, presentations, and staying current with industry trends.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance defense litigation or jury trial experience.
• Experience in general liability and/or insurance coverage matters.
• Proficient in legal writing, research, and oral advocacy.
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload with competing priorities.
• Experience in New Jersey state and federal courts.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice law in New Jersey.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in New Jersey.

Skills:

• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills and client relationship-building abilities.
• Strong time-management skills to handle multiple priorities.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
