Billing Supervisor
Duties: Leads billing team by delegating tasks, monitoring task completion, and managing team performance including annual evaluations. Manages the billing process including all billing deadlines; provides billing listings for posting to the Deadline Board. Effectively researches and partners with attorneys, staff, firm clients, and firm management as the team brings forward billing/WIP/client issues. Reviews and analyzes complex client billings including AFAs prepared by the team. Ensures accounting database reflects accurate billing information as stated in engagement letters, outside counsel guidelines, and partner instructions in order to meet our client’s expectations. Identifies opportunities and makes recommendations for process improvements. Executes complex bills in a timely manner (i.e., multiple discounts by matter, split-party billing, gathering all billing information and creating/distributing final invoices). Provides training, resolution support and guidance to billing team regarding all aspects of the billing process. Monitors KPIs to track progress.
