Job Overview:
A highly regarded law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join its team in a full-time, partnership-track capacity. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with 2–6 years of litigation experience who are eager to work on a variety of challenging matters, including pro bono cases. The firm values strong academic credentials, commitment to client service, and prior judicial clerkship experience. This position offers the possibility of bonus compensation and seniority credit for those entering directly from clerkships.

Location:

• Washington, DC

Duties:

• Represent clients in a broad range of litigation matters

• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, pleadings, and motions

• Prepare for and participate in court hearings, trials, and depositions

• Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients on litigation strategies

• Engage in client communication and case management

• Participate in pro bono assignments as part of professional development

Requirements:

• 2 to 6 years of litigation experience (Class of 2023 to Class of 2019)

• Strong academic record and demonstrated legal writing ability

• Prior judicial clerkship experience preferred

• Excellent interpersonal and client service skills

• Must be licensed in the jurisdiction of the office applied to or able to obtain licensure within one year

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active Bar membership or eligibility for admission in the relevant jurisdiction (Washington, DC)

Skills:

• Advanced legal research and analytical skills

• High level of attention to detail and organization

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

• Strong collaborative mindset and willingness to take initiative
