Job Overview:
A prominent national law firm is seeking a General Liability Associate Attorney to join its San Francisco office. This role offers an excellent opportunity for attorneys with defense litigation experience to handle a wide variety of general liability matters, including catastrophic injury, product liability, transportation, and construction defect cases. The position provides substantial responsibility and the opportunity to work collaboratively within a supportive team environment. Flexible hybrid or fully remote working arrangements are available.

Location:

• San Francisco, California

Duties:

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other legal documents

• Attend and represent clients at court hearings, depositions, and mediations

• Independently manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution

• Collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments and offices

• Communicate regularly with clients and provide case updates and strategy reports

• Prepare for and support trial proceedings, including participation in second-chair trial roles when needed

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of defense litigation experience

• Experience handling catastrophic injury, product liability, construction defect, habitability, transportation, or other general liability matters

• Experience drafting discovery and pretrial motions required

• Cross-examination experience preferred

• Prior experience managing court appearances and depositions

• Second-chair trial experience considered a plus

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to practice law in the State of California

Skills:
