Duties

• Conduct legal research and analysis on litigation matters, particularly securities and complex commercial litigation.
• Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Participate in depositions, court conferences, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
• Develop and implement case strategies with senior attorneys.
• Review and interpret applicable laws, rulings, and regulations.
• Manage all aspects of the discovery process.
• Assist with trial preparation, including witness preparation and case file management.
• Maintain client communications and provide legal advice.
• Conduct interviews with clients and witnesses.
• Attend client meetings and negotiate settlements when appropriate.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in New York; admission in New Jersey is a plus.
• 4 - 8 years of litigation experience in a law firm setting, specifically in securities and complex commercial litigation.
• Strong knowledge of civil procedure and evidence rules, with experience in state and federal courts.
• Excellent legal research, analytical, writing, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in legal research and case management software.
• Strong verbal and written communication, public speaking, and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Team-oriented with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in New York; New Jersey admission is a plus.
