Job Overview
A law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Discovery Attorney with 5 to 7 years of experience in eDiscovery. This individual will be responsible for advising and supporting case teams and clients on all phases of discovery, from preservation through production. The role also involves pre-litigation information governance, deposition and witness preparation, as well as trial preparation when necessary. The Senior Discovery Attorney will collaborate with attorneys, technologists, and case teams to ensure risk mitigation, cost control, and defensibility while identifying critical information to support case outcomes.

Duties

  • Advise clients and case teams on all discovery phases, from preservation through production.
  • Provide expertise on pre-litigation information governance, deposition preparation, and trial preparation.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, technologists, and clients to design and manage eDiscovery workflows and protocols.
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and efficiency in eDiscovery processes by overseeing junior attorneys, project attorneys, technologists, and service providers.
  • Manage and supervise case teams to ensure the quality of deliverables.

Requirements

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in eDiscovery and litigation support.
  • Licensed and in good standing in the state of practice.
  • Strong knowledge of eDiscovery laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Ability to manage and advise on all aspects of eDiscovery from preservation to production.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • eDiscovery-related certifications (e.g., Relativity Certified Pro, Certified E-Discovery Specialist) are preferred but not required.

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex legal and technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and other collaboration tools.
  • Expertise with Relativity is strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to lead and manage teams and service providers.
