A law firm seeks an Intake Attorney to join their team remotely in San Jose, CA. This role involves supporting new business intake and case evaluations, focusing on connecting with potential clients to assess the firm's ability to represent them. The attorney will collaborate with the intake team to execute processes related to client review, eligibility identification, and potential retainer evaluation.

Duties

• Process the intake of prospective clients, including speaking with them and performing case evaluations.
• Assist intake specialists in answering legal questions and identifying conflicts of interest.
• Draft engagement letters and necessary waivers.
• Maintain accurate records related to client intake, including conflicts records and engagement letters.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to mitigate risks associated with new business intake.
• Utilize research tools to identify potential risks with new clients.
• Act as a resource on conflict of interest and client intake matters.
• Work with the ethics officer to ensure best practices in engagement letters.
• Stay informed on firm trends and developments impacting the department.
• Assume additional responsibilities as directed by the Client Intake Manager or ethics officer.

Requirements

• Licensed California attorney in good standing with the CA Bar Association.
• 5+ years of experience as a licensed attorney.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and client service skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong drafting and negotiating skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic legal thinking skills.
• Ability to manage workflow independently and meet deadlines.
• Courtroom experience preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of the Code of Civil Procedure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 360, Adobe, Excel, and CRM.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• California Bar License (Required).
