Duties

• Draft and file pleadings, including complaints, motions, and legal briefs

• Conduct and defend depositions, as well as manage discovery processes

• Handle court appearances and oral arguments at various procedural stages

• Develop case strategy in collaboration with other attorneys and firm leadership

• Communicate directly with clients, offering legal counsel and managing expectations

• Collaborate with colleagues across practice groups to provide integrated legal solutions

• Contribute to case management, including timelines, deadlines, and workflow oversight

• Participate in business development and client relationship initiatives

Requirements

• Substantive litigation experience, ideally at a mid-sized to large firm or in a judicial clerkship

• Strong analytical abilities and legal research skills

• Excellent writing and oral advocacy capabilities

• Proven ability to work independently and take initiative in complex legal matters

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications

• Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

• Eligibility to waive into or gain admission to the Vermont Bar
