A well-respected law firm based in Portland, OR, is seeking a skilled Associate Attorney to join its Insurance Coverage practice group. Duties:

• Conduct a comprehensive analysis of insurance claims and related legal causes of action.

• Perform in-depth legal research and draft substantive briefs, memoranda, pleadings, and appellate documents.

• Manage an annual billable requirement of 1950 hours.

• Represent clients in court proceedings, arbitrations, and depositions.

• Draft and respond to complex discovery requests.

• Collaborate with and retain expert witnesses.

• Participate actively in trial preparation and trial proceedings.

• Travel occasionally for hearings, depositions, and client meetings as needed.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience focused on insurance coverage preferred.

• Admission to practice law in Oregon; additional state admissions considered a plus.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficiency in legal research and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to independently manage workload while contributing to a collaborative team atmosphere.

• Commitment to prompt communication via email and telephone.

• High level of professionalism and excellent client-facing skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active Bar membership in Oregon (additional State Bar admissions are advantageous).
