PIP ARB Attorney
A respected law firm based in Plainfield, NJ is currently seeking a dedicated legal professional with a strong foundation in Personal Injury Protection (PIP) arbitration to join its legal team. This position involves handling a robust caseload of PIP arbitration matters, crafting legal strategies, conducting hearings, and collaborating with legal support staff. The role requires strong legal acumen, organizational skills, and the ability to work within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This opportunity is offered through a specialized legal recruiting firm representing the hiring law firm.
Analyze newly assigned case files and determine the appropriate strategy
Draft and review pleadings, discovery responses, and legal briefs
Examine evidence, medical records, and procedural documentation
Prepare Rule 16 Charts, listing service dates and disputed CPT codes
Secure necessary provider certifications
Represent clients in arbitration proceedings and interpret decisions
Draft motions for modification, and clarification, and manage appeal discussions
Conduct virtual and in-person court appearances and hearings
Engage with clients regularly and prepare witnesses
Provide detailed legal evaluations and strategy updates
Oversee and support a team of legal assistants and a junior attorney
Propose settlements and review opposing counsel’s submissions
Collaborate across departments to resolve disputes effectively
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited institution
Active NJ Bar license in good standing
0-5 years of experience with PIP litigation preferred
Experience with No-Fault and/or Special Investigations Unit (SIU) matters is advantageous
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Excellent time management and the ability to manage high caseload volume
Willingness to travel to court and regional offices as needed
Working knowledge of New Jersey PIP procedures and dispute resolution
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from a recognized law school
Active license to practice law in the State of New Jersey
Legal writing and analytical abilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Legal research tools such as LexisNexis
Familiarity with SmartAdvocate or comparable case management systems
Strong attention to detail and multitasking capabilities
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
