Job Overview:
A respected law firm is seeking a Trademark Associate with 3 to 5 years of experience to join its Intellectual Property team. This role offers the opportunity to work with a seasoned group of IP attorneys and professionals, handling domestic and international trademark portfolios for a wide range of clients, from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. The position involves a broad mix of trademark clearance, prosecution, enforcement, and litigation support, and provides room for growth, mentorship, and flexible work arrangements. Part-time candidates will also be considered.

Location:

• Irvine, California

Duties:

• Manage trademark clearance, prosecution, and enforcement matters for U.S. and international trademark portfolios

• Conduct comprehensive global and domestic trademark clearance searches

• Advise clients on search results and trademark strategies

• Draft and file responses to office actions with the USPTO

• Prepare and negotiate trademark coexistence and settlement agreements

• Draft and send cease-and-desist letters and handle enforcement investigations

• Represent clients in TTAB opposition and cancellation proceedings

• Coordinate with team members to manage deadlines and client expectations

• Support broader intellectual property litigation and counseling initiatives

Requirements:

• 3–5 years of trademark prosecution and enforcement experience

• Prior work handling trademark matters for national and international clients

• Familiarity with USPTO procedures and TTAB litigation

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments efficiently under pressure

• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. State Bar

Skills:

• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical capabilities

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• High level of attention to detail and organizational proficiency

• Experience drafting client-facing legal documents and strategic guidance

• Ability to manage a diverse caseload in a fast-paced environment
