Job Title: Insurance Defense Attorney

Job Overview:
A respected law firm in New York City seeks a driven Insurance Defense Attorney to join its construction litigation team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in construction law and insurance defense, focusing on labor disputes. This role involves handling complex litigation matters from start to finish, offering a path to partnership for high-performing attorneys.

Duties:

• Represent clients in insurance defense cases involving construction accidents, labor disputes, and contractual issues.
• Manage and litigate cases throughout all stages, including pre-trial, discovery, motion practice, settlements, and trial.
• Provide strategic legal counsel on construction risk management and compliance.
• Draft and review legal documents, including complaints, answers, motions, and discovery responses.
• Collaborate with insurance adjusters, risk managers, expert witnesses, and other stakeholders to build effective defense strategies.
• Oversee a caseload efficiently, ensuring all deadlines and client expectations are met.
• Stay informed of developments in construction law, insurance defense, and relevant regulations.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance defense, with a focus on construction labor litigation preferred.
• Active Bar membership in New York; New Jersey Bar is a plus.
• Strong foundation in construction law, including OSHA regulations, labor laws, and indemnity agreements.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the state of New York; additional licensure in New Jersey is advantageous.

Skills:

• Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy abilities.
• Proven ability to manage complex litigation independently and within a team setting.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Capability to handle high-volume caseloads effectively.
