Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm based in New York City is actively seeking a seasoned litigation attorney to join its construction and labor-focused insurance defense practice. This role involves managing a high-volume caseload related to complex construction claims and insurance disputes, representing a client base that includes insurance carriers, contractors, and construction professionals. The ideal candidate will bring strong litigation experience, particularly in matters involving labor law, workplace safety, and contractual liability within the construction industry. Duties:

• Represent clients in insurance-related construction litigation, including personal injury, labor law, and contract disputes

• Handle all aspects of litigation from case intake through trial or resolution

• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and legal memoranda

• Conduct depositions and court appearances, including motion arguments and settlement conferences

• Collaborate with insurance representatives, risk managers, and expert witnesses

• Advise clients on litigation strategy, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance

• Maintain organized case files and ensure timely case progression

• Stay updated on trends and legal developments in construction and insurance law

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of litigation experience, preferably in construction-related insurance defense

• Strong foundation in New York Labor Law, OSHA compliance, indemnity provisions, and related statutes

• Experience handling complex litigation independently

• Ability to manage deadlines, court schedules, and client needs effectively

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in New York

• Admission in New Jersey is a plus

Skills:

• Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy abilities

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and case management skills

• Skilled in negotiation and litigation strategy
