Entry-Level Immigration Attorney
Job Overview:
A well-established law firm in Sacramento, CA, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Immigration Attorney to join its growing immigration practice. This role offers substantial opportunities for professional development and hands-on litigation experience. Working closely with experienced immigration professionals, the selected candidate will manage a diverse caseload and provide comprehensive legal support to clients navigating the complexities of immigration law.
Duties:
Offer legal guidance on immigration policies and recommend strategic case approaches
Advocate for both detained and non-detained individuals before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals
Prepare and file a broad range of immigration applications, including family-based petitions and removal defense filings
Conduct intake interviews and visits with individuals in detention facilities
Review and revise immigration packets to ensure accuracy and completeness
Coordinate with law enforcement, prosecutors, and community organizations on immigration-related updates
Meet with prospective clients for consultations to assess immigration options
Build and implement case strategies, including witness and client preparation for USCIS interviews and court appearances
Conduct a thorough legal analysis to identify possible immigration benefits for clients
Draft and submit persuasive legal briefs for various immigration matters
Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year of experience practicing immigration law
Demonstrated ability to manage a growing caseload independently
Strong team collaboration mindset with a problem-solving attitude
Proficiency in both English and Spanish is preferred
High-level interpersonal and communication abilities
Familiarity with a range of immigration applications, including humanitarian relief, family-based petitions, EOIR processes, and citizenship applications
Prior experience with legal case management software is advantageous
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Active Bar membership in good standing
Certifications:
Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
