Job Overview

A prominent national defense litigation firm is seeking an Of Counsel – General Liability Defense Attorney for its Las Vegas office. This role is ideal for experienced litigators seeking to step into a leadership-level position with autonomy over case strategy and management. The ideal candidate will bring strong defense litigation experience, particularly in general liability, catastrophic injury, construction defect, and transportation-related matters. A flexible hybrid work environment is available.

Location

• Las Vegas, Nevada

Duties

• Independently manage a full caseload of general liability matters from inception to resolution

• Draft and review pleadings, legal memoranda, dispositive motions, and discovery

• Attend and conduct court hearings, depositions, and mediations

• Cross-examine fact witnesses and plaintiffs when necessary

• Work closely with partners and litigation teams to strategize and execute case management

• Provide status reports and updates to clients and insurers in a timely manner

• Contribute to a collaborative team environment across multiple offices

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of defense litigation experience

• Background in handling matters involving:

  • Catastrophic injury

  • Construction defect

  • Habitability claims

  • Transportation litigation

  • Product liability and premises liability

• Demonstrated experience drafting discovery, motions, and pre-trial materials

• Trial and courtroom experience, including 2nd chair trial work, preferred

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the State of Nevada

• Member in good standing with the Nevada State Bar

Skills

• Superior legal writing and analytical abilities

• Strong oral advocacy and communication skills

• Capable of managing multiple active litigation matters efficiently

• Highly organized with strong attention to detail

• Comfortable mentoring associates or supporting junior team members
