Duties:

• Manage a personal caseload with supervision from senior attorneys

• Draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and responses to discovery

• Conduct legal research and prepare analytical memorandums

• Represent clients in court appearances, including hearings and conferences

• Take and defend depositions

• Participate in site inspections and case evaluations

• Collaborate with expert witnesses during case development

• Attend mediations and engage in settlement negotiations

• Assist with trial preparation and participate in trials when needed

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of relevant experience in insurance defense or general civil litigation

• Licensed to practice law in New York State and good standing

• Strong attention to detail with an ability to manage competing priorities

• Proven legal research and writing skills

• Capable of working independently and as part of a collaborative team

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar (active and in good standing)

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal research platforms (e.g., Westlaw)

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Litigation strategy development and execution

• Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities

• Competence in trial and pre-trial processes

• Time management and organizational aptitude
