A well-regarded law firm located in Austin, TX, is actively seeking a driven and qualified Associate Immigration Attorney. This opportunity is ideal for a legal professional looking to grow within a dynamic and collaborative legal team that prioritizes client advocacy in all areas of immigration law. The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload, engage in client interactions, and work closely with legal assistants and other attorneys on removal defense, family-based petitions, and humanitarian applications.
Provide strategic consultations to clients regarding immigration options and risks
Represent individuals, both detained and non-detained-before Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals
Conduct intake visits and legal assessments at detention centers
Prepare and file immigration applications, including family-based petitions, asylum, and cancellation of removal
Draft legal briefs and supporting documentation for USCIS and EOIR
Review case files and ensure all applications meet quality standards
Develop and execute legal strategies for hearings and client testimony
Liaise with law enforcement, advocacy groups, and prosecutors regarding legal matters
Guide and prepare clients and witnesses for testimony
Maintain regular communication with clients throughout the case progression
1 to 4 years of hands-on experience in immigration law
Demonstrated ability to manage a full caseload independently
High degree of professionalism and commitment to client service
Collaborative attitude with a willingness to contribute to the team strategy
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Admission to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction
Active Bar membership in good standing
Familiarity with EOIR and USCIS procedures and filings
Proficiency in preparing legal briefs and immigration petitions
Effective communication and public speaking abilities
Strong organizational and time management capabilities
Experience using case management software (preferred but not required)
