Job Overview:

A well-regarded law firm located in Austin, TX, is actively seeking a driven and qualified Associate Immigration Attorney. This opportunity is ideal for a legal professional looking to grow within a dynamic and collaborative legal team that prioritizes client advocacy in all areas of immigration law. The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload, engage in client interactions, and work closely with legal assistants and other attorneys on removal defense, family-based petitions, and humanitarian applications.

Duties:

• Provide strategic consultations to clients regarding immigration options and risks

• Represent individuals, both detained and non-detained-before Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals

• Conduct intake visits and legal assessments at detention centers

• Prepare and file immigration applications, including family-based petitions, asylum, and cancellation of removal

• Draft legal briefs and supporting documentation for USCIS and EOIR

• Review case files and ensure all applications meet quality standards

• Develop and execute legal strategies for hearings and client testimony

• Liaise with law enforcement, advocacy groups, and prosecutors regarding legal matters

• Guide and prepare clients and witnesses for testimony

• Maintain regular communication with clients throughout the case progression

Requirements:

• 1 to 4 years of hands-on experience in immigration law

• Demonstrated ability to manage a full caseload independently

• High degree of professionalism and commitment to client service

• Collaborative attitude with a willingness to contribute to the team strategy

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

• Admission to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction

Certifications:

• Active Bar membership in good standing

Skills:

• Familiarity with EOIR and USCIS procedures and filings

• Proficiency in preparing legal briefs and immigration petitions

• Effective communication and public speaking abilities

• Strong organizational and time management capabilities

• Experience using case management software (preferred but not required)
