Job Title: Trial Counsel - Nursing Home & Medical Neglect
Job Overview:
A Charleston-based law firm seeks a driven and seasoned litigator to join its expanding practice focused on medical neglect and elder care facility abuse. This fully remote position is designed for experienced trial attorneys who thrive in courtroom advocacy and are committed to delivering justice for vulnerable clients harmed by institutional negligence. Candidates will lead litigation strategy and trial execution, supported by a team of professionals aligned with the mission to protect the elderly and medically neglected.
Duties:
Act as lead attorney on complex matters involving elder care facility abuse and medical negligence
Draft and submit pleadings, discovery, pre-trial motions, and supporting legal memoranda
Develop case themes and evidentiary strategies through collaboration with expert witnesses and investigators
Conduct and manage depositions, mediations, jury selection, and courtroom presentations
Handle trial logistics, including preparation of exhibits, coordination of witness appearances, and supervision of the trial team
Provide clear, empathetic client communication throughout the litigation lifecycle
Maintain a high-quality trial docket with limited involvement in pre-litigation work
Serve as a legal advisor to internal teams on ongoing and potential litigation risks
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of direct litigation experience in personal injury, medical neglect, or elder abuse matters
Documented trial results, including significant verdicts or high-stakes settlements
Admittance to and good standing with the South Carolina Bar
Familiarity with state and federal civil procedure and evidentiary rules
High-level organizational ability to manage multiple litigation files efficiently
Commitment to ethical client representation and professional development
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited institution
Certifications:
An active South Carolina Bar license is required

Outstanding courtroom presence and persuasive communication
Strategic thinking with strong analytical and legal research capabilities
Fluency in complex medical records and expert testimony coordination
