Job Title: Trial Counsel - Nursing Home & Medical Neglect

Job Overview:
A Charleston-based law firm is seeking a skilled and trial-ready attorney to lead litigation efforts in cases involving nursing home negligence, elder abuse, and medical neglect. This role emphasizes courtroom advocacy and offers a remote work structure with travel required for hearings, trials, and firm events. Duties:

• Act as lead attorney in medical neglect and elder abuse cases, from filing through trial

• Prepare and argue motions, pleadings, and other litigation documents

• Handle all aspects of case development, including discovery, depositions, and expert coordination

• Conduct voir dire, deliver opening/closing arguments, and perform witness examinations

• Guide clients through complex legal and medical issues with empathy and clarity

• Work closely with the litigation team, including paralegals, experts, and investigators, to ensure trial readiness

• Oversee courtroom logistics and strategy, managing internal team roles and external collaborations

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of active litigation experience with nursing home or related personal injury claims

• Demonstrated success in trying cases to verdict and/or securing significant settlements

• Deep understanding of trial procedures in both state and federal courts

• Proven ability to handle a full caseload with autonomy and strategic focus

• Strong command of persuasive legal writing and courtroom communication

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from a U.S. law school accredited by the ABA

Certifications:

• Active membership in good standing with the South Carolina Bar
