A law firm in San Francisco, CA, is seeking an experienced Insurance Coverage Litigation Attorney to join their Product, Tort, and Insurance Litigation Practice Group. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in defending insurance coverage and/or extracontractual matters. This role involves drafting coverage opinions, managing insurance claims, and representing clients in various legal proceedings. Strong research, writing skills, and a solid academic background are essential for success in this position.

Duties

• Draft and deliver detailed coverage opinions on complex insurance issues.
• Conduct thorough investigations into insurance claims to assess coverage and liability.
• Manage all phases of written discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.
• Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
• Prepare and file pleadings, substantive motions, and other legal documents.
• Represent clients effectively in mediations, court appearances, and trials.
• Develop and execute litigation strategies in collaboration with clients and senior attorneys.
• Analyze and interpret policy language and coverage issues to provide strategic legal advice.
• Stay updated on current developments in insurance law and litigation practices.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of litigation experience specifically in defending insurance coverage and/or extracontractual matters.
• Demonstrated expertise in writing coverage opinions and managing complex insurance claims.
• Proven ability to handle written discovery, depositions, and draft essential legal documents.
• Experience representing clients in mediations, court appearances, and trial settings.
• Excellent academic credentials and strong research and writing skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active Bar License in California.
