Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid to senior level associate with expertise in Electrical and Computer Technologies to join their team in Washington, D.C. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects within the Biotechnology and Electrical & Computer Technologies practice groups.

Duties

  • Interface with clients and inventors throughout the patent process.
  • Prepare, file, and prosecute patent applications domestically and internationally.
  • Conduct freedom-to-operate, infringement, and patentability analyses.
  • Assist with additional responsibilities or projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Understanding of machine learning, molecular biology, and sequencing technology.
  • Familiarity with gene editing, immunology, microscopy, and systems biology is advantageous.
  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school and admission to the USPTO.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; effective team collaboration.

Education

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the USPTO.

Skills

  • Proficiency in patent prosecution and analysis.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
