Duties

• Represent unions, employee benefit trust funds, and workers in labor and employment matters.

• Conduct legal research, write memoranda, and draft various legal documents.

• Handle litigation in cases involving workers’ rights, class actions, and law reform.

• Work with unions and employee benefit plans on a variety of legal issues.

• Provide legal counsel to unions, employee benefit plans, and individual workers.

Requirements

• Experience or interest in union labor, employment, and employee benefits law.

• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.

• Ability to effectively work with unions, employee benefit trust funds, and workers.

• Demonstrated commitment to workers' rights and the labor movement.

• Ability to work in a hybrid work environment (in-person work required in Oakland).

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the State Bar (California preferred, or willingness to join the California Bar).

Skills
