Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Intellectual Property and Technology Litigation Associate in Washington, DC. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team, working closely with partners across the U.S. and engaging in a variety of IP-related work, including significant client contact and responsibility.

Duties

• Litigate patents, trade secrets, false advertising, and unfair competition in federal courts and before the USITC.
• Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, appellate briefs, and correspondence with counsel.
• Collaborate with experts and assist in preparing reports.
• Manage discovery processes, including document and written discovery, and depositions.
• Prepare for and assist with trials and administrative hearings.
• Engage in motion arguments, trials, and appellate arguments in state and federal courts.
• Develop dispute settlement strategies, including mediation.
• Conduct PTAB proceedings and matters before the ITC.
• Perform legal research and writing.

Requirements

• 4-6 years of litigation experience required.
• Strong academic credentials required.
• Experience in patent and ITC litigation preferred.
• Licensed to practice law in the state of hire and in good standing.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

• Patent Bar preferred.
