A prestigious law firm is seeking a Matrimonial Associate Attorney with 3 to 7 years of experience to join its team in New York. This role is ideal for a motivated and skilled litigator with a focus on family and matrimonial law, including high-net-worth divorce proceedings, child custody matters, and equitable distribution cases. The position requires strong research, drafting, and courtroom skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with clients and colleagues.

Location:

• New York, NY

Duties:

• Represent clients in matrimonial and family law matters

• Draft motions, legal memoranda, settlement agreements, and court filings

• Conduct legal research and manage discovery

• Appear in court, primarily in New York State courts

• Advise clients on complex family law issues including child custody, support, alimony, and asset division

• Participate in negotiations and mediations

• Collaborate with colleagues to manage and execute litigation strategies

• Maintain organized case files and manage multiple active matters

Requirements:

• 3–7 years of relevant experience in matrimonial and/or family law

• Hands-on experience with motion practice, discovery, and agreement drafting

• Courtroom experience preferred, particularly in New York State Court

• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and emotionally charged matters professionally

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the State of New York
