A well-established and growing law firm based in Fargo, North Dakota is seeking a dedicated Trusts & Estates Attorney to join its estate planning and elder law practice. This is a full-time, in-person opportunity with the potential for future ownership succession planning. The firm is committed to compassionate client service and helping families and businesses with estate planning, elder law, and farm/business succession strategies. Ideal for an attorney with at least one year of experience in estate planning and an interest in long-term career growth within a collaborative legal team.

Location

Duties

• Draft estate planning documents including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives

• Provide legal guidance on business succession and elder law matters

• Meet with clients to assess estate planning goals and develop tailored legal strategies

• Manage client matters from intake through implementation

• Collaborate with paralegals and other legal staff to ensure accurate document preparation and client support

• Participate in firm marketing and development activities

• Contribute to firm growth through client service excellence and professional outreach

Requirements

• 1 year of experience in estate planning or a related legal area

• Interest in pursuing certification with the National Elder Law Foundation (CELA)

• Commitment to delivering client-focused legal services with empathy and professionalism

• Demonstrated ability to contribute to firm development and marketing initiatives

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

• Strong academic and legal writing credentials preferred

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in North Dakota and Minnesota (required)
