Job Overview

A law firm seeks an associate to join its Business Litigation team in New York, NY, or Boston, MA. This role involves engaging in sophisticated commercial disputes and representing clients in state and federal courts, as well as in mediation and arbitration proceedings. The position offers a hybrid work environment and requires managing complex business litigation matters from inception through resolution.

Duties

• Represent clients in courtroom and mediation/arbitration proceedings.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Research factual and legal issues and collaborate with senior attorneys.
• Draft memoranda, pleadings, discovery demands and responses, motions, and briefs.
• Examine records and transactions underlying business disputes.
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments for comprehensive legal support.

Requirements

• Admission to New York or Massachusetts bar (required).
• Admission to Connecticut bar (preferred).
• Federal or state judicial clerkship experience (preferred).
• Excellent research, writing, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to rapidly absorb and analyze new information.
• High level of professionalism, conscientiousness, and responsibility.
• Positive, flexible, and cooperative attitude.
• Military experience welcome.

Education

• Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school (required).

Certifications

• Admission to New York or Massachusetts bar (required).
